The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission met this Wednesday afternoon and approved to issue a new dispensary license in Southeast Arkansas. Zone 7 will now have 5 licensed dispensaries as only one facility, Greenlight Dispensary, is currently open in that area.
Chairman of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission, Dr. Ronda Henry-Tillman, expressed her concern about the lack of dispensaries in Southeast Arkansas and how many patients in the region are not being served.
The newest license will be issued to the next highest scoring applicant from Zone 7, which has not yet been announced. Therefore, the location of the dispensary is TBD.
Currently, Greenlight Dispensary in Helena is the only dispensary operating in Zone 7. Pain Free RX and Pine Bluff Agriceuticals in Pine Bluff and Arkansas Patient Services Company in Warren have yet to open.
