The Arkansas medical marijuana program makes it easy to qualify for and renew your medical marijuana card, offering patients the ability to purchase many different types of cannabis products across the Natural State.
The Arkansas medical marijuana program saw its first dispensary sale in 2019, and since then 8 cultivators, 37 more dispensaries, and four processors have come online.
Now, Osage Creek has been approved to relocate from its Fayetteville location to a new facility planned for Eureka Springs, Arkansas, where it’s closer to the cultivation facility in Berryville and can serve more Northwestern and North Central residents.
Osage Creek to Move from Fayetteville, AR to Eureka Springs
Eureka Springs to Get New Dispensary Location
Osage Creek is moving its Natural Root Wellness dispensary from its current location at 3970 M.L.K. JR. Blvd Suite 102 in Fayetteville to a new location in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
The company recently received approval from the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission to relocate and has plans to expedite the move with the mayor and other city departments in Eureka Springs, AR.
This will leave two dispensaries in Fayetteville, Acanza dispensary and Purspirit Cannabis, as well as two dispensaries in Bentonville.
The new location in Eureka Springs will be closer to Harrison and Mountain Home, where there is only one dispensary currently operating.
When Will the New Dispensary Be Open?
The relocation to Eureka Springs will take some time, though we suspect the new location will likely be installed before the end of the year.
With any new dispensary location, there’s an enormous amount of infrastructure, paperwork, and permits to figure out. Arkansas maintains tight security requirements that dictate facility designs, and there are specific laws concerning how cannabis facilities can be built.
The new location will be closer to Osage Creek’s cultivation facility, too, which can help cut down transportation costs and reduce overhead.
Arkansas is home to 38 dispensaries, 8 cultivators, and 4 processors, which is considerably more than its neighbors in Louisiana, though it pales in comparison to the thousands of growers and businesses in Oklahoma.
Cannabis Sales Up 1%, Natural Relief in Sherwood is Top Dispensary in Arkansas
Cannabis Sales Increase Slightly in Arkansas
Arkansas patients spent $24 million on cannabis in April across the State’s dispensaries, with 4,213 pounds being transferred.
That’s up from 4,166 pounds in March, but not by an incredible amount.
The first quarter of 2022 has seen just under $90 million in sales and almost 16,000 pounds according to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
The DFA also reported the top-performing dispensaries in Arkansas:
• Natural Relief Dispensary Sherwood, AR - 417.92 lbs.
• The Releaf Center Bentonville, AR - 332.02 lbs.
• Suite 443 Hot Springs, AR - 279.46 lbs.
• CROP Jonesboro, AR - 274.44 lbs.
• Green Springs Medical Hot Springs, AR - 222.84 lbs.
With Natural Relief Dispensary holding the top spot, Hot Springs, AR holds two spots on the top 5 best performing dispensaries in Arkansas this month.
Arkansas Marijuana Sees Expansion in the First Quarter
This year also saw the introduction of Berner’s by Good Day Farm in Little Rock, which introduced Cookies Cannabis collaborating with Arkansas cultivators for the first time, offering new products across the Natural State.
The collaboration has brought Cookies Cannabis strains to Central Arkansas, with many popular strains and good-looking flower.
The first quarter also introduced the broader part of Arkansas to RVR’s new line of Live concentrates, which have represented the highest quality hash seen in the Natural State so far.
Though prices remain stable, the State is also flirting with legalization this year, with multiple recreational cannabis bills gaining signatures from voters in Arkansas. Legalization could drastically change how the medical marijuana program operates, and depending on the bill that would pass, could dramatically lower prices as well.
