Unlocking Affordable Medical Marijuana in Arkansas

Accessing medical marijuana in Arkansas starts with obtaining a medical marijuana card, and while the state fees are relatively affordable, the cost of cannabis products can add up quickly. Compared to states like California and Colorado, Arkansas prices are higher, despite differences in income. Finding discounts is essential for patients seeking affordable medicine in the Natural State.

Here’s how you can save on medical marijuana in Arkansas, the types of discounts available, and tips for securing the best deals.

Finding Discounts on Arkansas Medical Marijuana

No State-Sponsored Discounts

Unfortunately, Arkansas does not offer state-sponsored discounts for medical marijuana. Discounts vary by dispensary, and finding the best deals may require some research and travel. Dispensaries often run weekly or monthly promotions, but there’s no standardized schedule.

Types of Discounts Available

Since each dispensary offers its own promotions, the types of discounts can vary widely. Here are the most common types of discounts you might find:

• Patient-Specific Discounts: Some dispensaries offer discounts for terminally ill patients, low-income individuals, senior citizens, physically disabled patients, or veterans. These discounts aren’t as common but are worth exploring.

• New Patient Discounts: Many dispensaries provide special offers for first-time visitors. These can include a one-time discount on your first visit or savings spread over multiple visits.

• Inventory-Based Discounts: Dispensaries often have weekly deals like “Hash Wednesdays,” “Flower Fridays,” or “Tincture Tuesdays.” These promotions change regularly and are based on inventory levels.

• Holiday Discounts: Dispensaries frequently offer promotions around holidays such as 4/20, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Tips for Finding the Best Deals on Medical Marijuana in Arkansas

Search Online

Online resources like Weedmaps can help you find current dispensary promotions. However, Weedmaps may not always display every available discount. Checking individual dispensary websites can also reveal exclusive deals, especially for patient-specific promotions.

Call Ahead

Since discounts and inventory can change frequently, calling dispensaries directly is one of the most reliable ways to confirm current promotions. This also helps you learn about limited-time offers, such as discounted products nearing expiration.

Consider Location

Where you purchase your medical marijuana in Arkansas can significantly impact the price. Fort Smith, near the Oklahoma border, offers some of the lowest prices in the state due to proximity to Oklahoma’s lower-cost products. Conversely, areas like Little Rock and Conway tend to have higher prices but may offer a wider selection of premium products. Planning a trip to regions with lower prices, such as Northwest Arkansas, can lead to substantial savings.

Conclusion

While medical marijuana prices in Arkansas can be steep, there are ways to find discounts and make your medicine more affordable. By researching dispensary deals, checking online resources, and calling ahead, you can access the best prices available.
