Arkansas To Extend Medical Marijuana Card Activation Date for Certain Patients

Updated: Jan 10, 2020

Arkansas Medical Marijuana Card Extension
The state of Arkansas is allowing an extension for certain medical marijuana patients.

Arkansas medical marijuana cards began being distributed to approved patients back in February 2019. Arkansas cards are valid for one year after the date of issuance, meaning that renewals for patients would begin next month. However, the state of Arkansas is providing a beneficial perk this year.

Since the first dispensary in Arkansas did not open until May 2019, the state is extending the active date of any card that was issued in February 2019 (or before then) due to the lack of available dispensaries.

The state will be sending those patients whose cards were activated during this given time frame a new card with an updated expiration date. A new application for an extension will not be required.

If you have any further questions or concerns, you can contact the Arkansas Medical Marijuana State Hotline at 1-833-214-8619.
