Doctor's Orders RX Dispensary in Hot Springs is Now Open!
Doctor’s Orders in Hot Springs, Arkansas, was the first medical marijuana dispensary to open to the public in Arkansas. Its first day of business was on May 10, 2019. They take pride in offering the “best and largest” selection in the state. As of today, with 23 strains of smokable marijuana flower available, they do appear to have the largest flower selection in Arkansas. Doctor's Orders also offers military veterans a 10% discount Monday through Saturday!
Doctor's Orders RX is owned by Doctor's Orders Pharmacy, a family owned local business with over 100 years of combined pharmacists experience. The facility is located on the corner of Malvern Avenue & Highway 171 in the old Midway BBQ building, just down the street from the Garland County Fairgrounds.
What Marijuana Products Are Available at Doctor's Orders RX Dispensary in Hot Springs?
Patients can choose from three types of medical cannabis products:
If you are familiar with marijuana, flower is typically the first thing that comes to mind. Dried flowers from the cannabis plant are smoked for their therapeutic potential. Flower is split into three groups based on its effects:
• Hybrid (a combination of indica and sativa)
Marijuana flower is fast acting, although its efficacy wanes fairly quickly when compared to edible options (see below). You can start with a small dose and work your way up slowly to find the best dose for you, making it a good option if you do not know how much THC you will need to experience an optimal effect.
Doctor’s Orders currently carries 10 indica strains, 11 sativa strains, and 2 hybrid strains.
Edibles are any type of medical marijuana product that is eaten rather than smoked or applied topically. Common examples are gummies, tinctures (dropper bottles), and gel capsules, although not all of these are available yet in Arkansas dispensaries.
Edibles take longer to kick in, but their effects last longer and are often stronger than smokable cannabis flower. You can accurately measure dosage, so once you know your ideal quantity of THC, edibles can be a good option.
Doctor’s Orders currently carries GG Dream Gummy 10 packs in lemon, grape, or mango. Each gummy contains 9.7mg THC.
Concentrates are products that contain concentrated parts of or extracts from the cannabis plant that are rich in therapeutic compound content, such as THC and other cannabinoids. Some examples of concentrates are wax and shatter, products that you use with a dab rig, or vape cartridges used inside of a vape pen.
Concentrates are potent and extremely fast acting, making them a good option when you need immediate and powerful symptomatic relief. They will not last as long as edibles.
Doctor’s Orders carries one concentrate, Lemon Star Haze Budder (1g).
